Let's face the facts, reading is the single biggest academic skill for young children to master.
Learning to read begins with preschoolers.
Now please WAIT RIGHT THERE. Preschoolers should not be taught to read.
Nope. There are many, many, many more important things for them to do.
BUT the Pre-Reading skills like:
- rhyming,
- sound segmenting,
- syllable awareness
and more, are essential to develop through play at this age.
These skills are MORE important than the ABCs! Did you know?
If you didn't, you are not alone.
As a Kindergarten teacher I want to give you the skills and activities and playful games that will set your child up for a lifetime of success.
It is incredible how quickly a child will learn to read when the proper foundation is set.
The same is true for other core skills as well!
